| Air flow benches are used for testing the internal aerodynamic qualities of an engine component. One of the most common uses of an air flow bench is to test the cylinder head intake and exhaust ports of an engine or any section of the engine that has a gas flow requirement e.g air filters, carburetors, manifolds and is especially popular among engine builders involved in high performance engine design and manufacturing.

Orifice plate pressure drop calculator is used for flow rate measuring in pipe systems. With orifice plate, pressure drop is created. Based on the magnitude of pressure drop, flow rate can be calculated. The pressure drop calculation formula for the pipe is explained in more detail below .Practical for larger tube diameters and for dirty fluid where other methods are impractical.
