Flow Nozzles
Flow Nozzle
Standard material is stainless steel with other corrosion resistant materials available on request. Styles included: Flanged - for installation between pipe flanges; Flanged Throat Tap - similar to the standard flanged style with the downstream tap machined as a part of the nozzle; Weld-In - a machined ring on the O.D. of the nozzle allows this nozzle to be welded between two sections of piping with the nozzle itself entirely within the pipe; and Holding Ring - nozzle is located within the piping and is secured with an internal ring and pins which are welded through the wall of the pipe.

Fox critical flow nozzles
Since 1961, Fox critical flow nozzles, also called sonic chokes, have been used to maintain stable gas flow rates in systems where maintaining stable, accurate gas flow rates is essential to overall system performance. By establishing a shock wave in the venturi, the sonic choke establishes fixed flow rates unaffected by ∆P or any fluctuations, surges, or changes in downstream pressure. With no moving parts, sonic chokes provide the simplest and most reliable way to regulate gas flows. This is particularly true when high pressure, high temperature, cryogenic, explosive, or high purity gasses need to be regulated.
