A flowmeter is a device that is used to measure either the velocity of a fluid, the volumetric or the mass flow. Flow Meter users have different flow measurement purposes. Some may simply be local/remote indication of fluid flow rate while some require some form of electrical output for e.g an analog or digital output. Other flowmeters may be installed to totalize flow – an example being the common water meter.  Most popular designs of the common water meter show the total volume of flow e.g in M3 or FT3 for water billing purposes. A flow meter can be part of an effort to monitor flow rate , bill consumers or control a process or system. Since there are so many uses for flow meters and their applications so varied, it is almost impossible to list them all.
